Company · Warranty

Two years. In writing. Here's what it isn't.

Every ClearFit-branded filter carries a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects, plus a performance guarantee on the exact NSF claims stated on its page. And because “lifetime warranty” on a consumable is marketing, not promise: a filter reaching the end of its service life is not a defect.

What's Covered — and What Isn't

Two lists, equal billing — the right column exists because every warranty dispute we’ve ever seen came from something in it.

Covered for 2 Years

  • ✓Leaks from housing or seam defects — water escaping anywhere the body shouldn't let it.
  • ✓Malformed housings & gaskets — out-of-tolerance parts that never could seal.
  • ✓Media separation or collapse — crumbling carbon block, detaching pleats, end-cap failure within rated life.
  • ✓Failed stated performance — missing the specific NSF/ANSI claim on its page when used as directed (detail below).
  • ✓Shipping damage reported within 7 days — replacement first, questions after.

Not Covered — Ever

  • ✗End of service life. A fridge filter at 6 months or HVAC filter at 90 days is done, not defective — the calendar owns that, not the warranty.
  • ✗Improper installation. Wrong bay, cross-threaded, missing gaskets — against the instructions we ship.
  • ✗Freeze damage, hot-water lines, abuse — operating ranges are on each SKU's spec sheet.
  • ✗Claims we never made. A SKU that doesn't list a contaminant can't "fail" it — that's the honesty policy working.
  • ✗Third-party brands resold here (pool cartridges) carry their manufacturer's warranty, administered by us.

The Performance Guarantee, Per Claim

We Warranty Sentences, Not Vibes

Each SKU page states its claims — Standard SKUs carry NSF/ANSI 42 (chlorine, taste); Premium SKUs add NSF 53 (lead & cysts). The guarantee: a filter used as directed that misses its stated claim gets you a refund or replacement — your choice — and the claim comes off the site while it’s investigated.

What this is not: a blanket “makes water better” promise. A Standard SKU that doesn’t reduce lead isn’t a warranty failure — its page never said it would. Read the difference between the standards.

“Improves water”We don’t write sentences like this

Every product page carries this same panel with that SKU’s real claims — the missing rows are the honest part.

Making a Claim: Three Steps, No Gauntlet

01

Email Order # + Photos + Lot Code

One email to support with your CF- order number, a photo of the defect, and the lot code on the filter body — it maps to the production batch.

Performance-claim cases: describe the observation. We may send a free test kit.

02

Reply Within 1 Business Day

A human confirms coverage — usually from the photos — and offers replacement or refund, your choice. Performance claims enter our lab spot-check queue, timeline stated in the same reply.

Filters under 10″ almost never ship back — photos and lot code are enough.

03

Resolution Ships Free

Replacements ship same-day from Indiana stock; refunds post in 3–5 business days. If a claim reveals a batch problem, everyone in that lot gets notified — that’s what the lot code is for.

Warranty FAQ

QDo I Need to Register Anything?

No registration, no warranty card, no receipt-hunting. The CF- order number is the registration — it carries SKU, lot and delivery date.

QMy Filter Clogged Before Its Rated Life. Defect?

Sometimes — and that’s a real claim. Heavy sediment loads (wells, construction dust) clog filters early without a defect. Within rated life under normal load: covered. If your water outguns the filter’s spec, we’ll say which upgrade actually solves it instead of shipping the same part to clog again.

QDoes the Warranty Transfer If I Move or Gift Filters?

Yes. It follows the filter, not the buyer — anyone with the order number and lot code can claim. Warranties that die when a house sells are a scam with extra steps.

QWhat’s a “Stated Claim” Exactly?

The performance sentences on the SKU’s own page. NSF/ANSI 42 and, on Premium, 53 — nothing more. A claim that isn’t written isn’t made, isn’t implied, and isn’t covered.
